Karen Antrim creates sculpted, burnished, pinch, reduction pottery using the outdoor sawdust firing process. "My pinch pots show an emphasis on design and the perfection of form and detail. Each piece is etched with a specifically selected bas relief motif or the addition of sculpted parts. The pot is hand burnished twice, and then fired. My sculpted pottery is smooth, shiny, and varies from deep red to black. Each piece is unique and requires many hours to create, The creation of ceramic pottery and sculpture allows me the opportunity to translate an artistic vision into a three-dimensional creation in clay."
