A native of Maine, Scott Hodgdon states he is inspired by the works
of Winslow Homer and N.C. Wyeth. Scott attended the Butera School of Art
in Boston and began his career as a professional illustrator creating art
for book and magazine covers. He is a member of the Graphic Artists Guild
and the Society of Illustrators.
Recently he has devoted more of his time to easel work. The use
of dramatic color in his newer paintings set them apart from his illustrations.
They reflect the artist’s desire to paint subjects based on nature while
recalling memories of his early years in rural Maine and New England.
